I'm taking the two environmental classes to fulfill my environmental studies minor, and the literature class to fulfill a GE from UCSD. The "Rise of New Great Powers" is a core class that I have to take, and coincidentally, is the only class that I couldn't get to count for any requirement with my major/minor/GE. The Gamelan Esemble is just a 1 unit percussion seminar that should be pretty awesome.
I'm a little concerned about the 8:00 AM classes, especially as we lose time traveling east. I've heard horror stories from alumni saying that they would be up at 4 or 5 AM in the morning in their rooms not being able to sleep because they never had time to adjust to the time changes. I think I'll live though. And take frequent naps.

So it looks like you are taking 15 hours, right?? If you don't have to I don't recommend it. I had to and it was horrid sometimes. Your classes sound really interesting though.
It seems really fun what you are doing. There are a lot of adventerous car rides.
Spense,
Talked to your father and he told me where to find your adventures. Sounds like you are living the dream. Maybe one day you can show Your Father and I some of these places. Jessica and Joey started reading your post and they seem quite interested. Keep writing and we'll keep reading
